A live stream collaboration with the Zakat Foundation of America
As the world evolves through an unprecedented time, in a global pandemic, we started to feel the void as we considered what Eid 2020 would look like. Knowing we had to serve our communities with love, inspiration and humor, we strategized with close friends and advisors to explore options. We knew we had to pull something off… not just another Zoom-based webinar, or a corny online “Islamic” event, but something truly unique and special. After weeks of brainstorming, an idea was born: EID-IN-PLACE: A FREE VIRTUAL SHOW.
EID-IN-PLACE: A Free Virtual Show was a produced, 90-minute, streamed variety show, featuring world-class Muslim performers from the United States and United Kingdom. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Muslims were forced to celebrate Eid al-Fitr—marking the end of Ramadan 2020—under Shelter-in-Place orders globally. The Free Virtual Show provided a once-in-a-lifetime, family-friendly entertainment experience while serving as a live telethon for Zakat Foundation of America (www.zakat.org).
Soul City Arts were involved in the technical creation of the show including the designed look and feel of the show, stingers, artistic elements as well as producing and streaming the show live on the day through our live stream technical abilities.
